The Johnson 6" Magnetic Billet Torpedo Level (Model: 1411-0600) shows what you get when high-end billet aluminum is precision machined into a shape that accommodates the most needed features. You get a great balance of durability, long-term accuracy and an ease of use that we all need from our tools.

The Basics

The precision-machined aerospace aluminum body is fitted with powerful GripTight® are earth magnets along the flat bottom edge so you can stick the Johnson 6" Magnetic Billet Torpedo Level to flat or round ferrous metal surfaces at any angle. The heel end has a thumbscrew that is designed to lock the Johnson 6" Magnetic Billet Torpedo Level to tubing to help make perfect bends or angled installations.

CNC machining means the fit and finish of this level (left) is perfect. The "conduit clamp" (right) is a very nice touch that will be a hit anyone that fits or bends tubing! Click images to enlarge

The Johnson 6" Magnetic Billet Torpedo Level has four of their easy to read vials that show 0°, 30°, 45° and 90°. The vials are fit into precisely cut openings to insure long-term accuracy and protection. The 0° and 30° vials can be read from the top and sides with the 0° vial also visible from the underside. The aluminum body is anodized black which makes the bright yellow/green vials even easier to read.

In the Shop

I think that I can count myself among a large number of people who didn’t recognize the usefulness of a torpedo level until I picked one up on the job. Whether I am working with wood or metal the Johnson 6" Magnetic Billet Torpedo Level is a very handy tool to have.

Having 4 vial angles plus the tubing mount put the Johnson 6" Magnetic Billet Torpedo Level head and shoulders over common torpedo levels. Add the bottom magnetic capability plus the upper V-groove and the Johnson 6" Magnetic Billet Torpedo Level gets into must have territory. The $36.00 MSRP means that if you are going to carry a torpedo level at all, having the Johnson 6" Magnetic Billet Torpedo Level just makes sense.
